Dr Cindy Nagel
BSc D.M.D., Family Dentist
Dr. Cindy Nagel was born and raised in Kamloops, BC and proud to have returned home to build her state-of-the-art dental studio in 2015.
She graduated dental school with honours from McGill University in 2012 and trained as a hospital dentist in Calgary before transitioning to private practice in Kamloops in 2013.
In Alberta, she gained valuable experience working with medically complex patients and children, including administering conscious sedation.
Between 2015-2019, Dr. Cindy volunteered her days at the non-profit dental clinic in the New Life Mission in Kamloops, giving back to those most in need in our community until the clinic closed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
In 2017, Dr. Cindy joined the Medical Staff at Royal Inland Hospital and is now offering dental treatment under general anesthesia, both in the hospital and Kamloops Surgical Center.
Outside the office, Dr. Cindy loves to do yoga, knitting, painting, and enjoys her coffee.

Dr Douglas Whitelaw
BSc D.M.D., Family Dentist
Dr. Douglas Whitelaw has been Dr. Nagel’s “partner in crime” since joining Horizon Dental in July 2019.
Dr. Doug is from our area, having grown up in Vernon, BC. He attended UBC Okanagan in Kelowna where he completed his Bachelor of Science and spent a few years working in academic research before moving to Vancouver to pursue his passion for dentistry. Dr. Doug is dedicated to furthering his skills and education, both by exploring continuing education opportunities but also by mentoring and teaching other dentists.
In his spare time, Dr. Doug especially loves music and plays both the drums and bass guitar. He spends most of his weekends camping and kayaking with his wife, Tara. He also enjoys playing ice hockey and is a die-hard Canucks fan and will gladly spend an unhealthy amount of time discussing the current state of the team.
Dr Marina Jones
BSc D.M.D., Family Dentist
Dr. Marina Jones was born and raised in the small town of Unity, Saskatchewan. She obtained her undergraduate training in both geography and dentistry at the University of Saskatchewan, graduating in 2013 and 2017. After dental school, Dr. Jones spent a year as a general practice resident based at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. As a resident she saw patients in Northern Saskatchewan and in both private and public practice settings with varying medical histories.
Dr. Jones moved to Kamloops from Airdrie, AB in 2021 where she practiced for a dental group in both urban and rural settings. Dr. Jones has experience with treating patients young and elderly, using conscious sedation, and is looking forward to providing thorough and gentle care along side the wonderful team at Horizon Dental.
Dr. Jones is interested in biomimetic techniques and completed the year long Six-Lessons Approach Biomimetic Mastership from the Alleman Centre in 2022 and continues to expand her knowledge about adhesive dentistry.
Outside of dentistry Dr. Jones enjoys spending time with friends and family, practicing yoga, hiking and biking, attending art galleries and concerts, being creative, learning more about birds, and tending to multiple house plants.
